JCP-Consult presents DASH over CCN at CCNx conference

on .

JCP-Consult, in collaboration with University of Klagenfurt, presented SocialSensor and their work on adaptive video streaming (DASH) and Content Centric Networks (CCN) at the CCNxCon2012 conference. The quality of video streaming using state of the art technologies is predominantly determined by the bottleneck link in the end-to-end network path between the source and destination. Since network fluctuations are bound to occur the resulting user experience is suboptimal at best. By using the caching mechanism in CCN networks and the adaptive video streaming of DASH, the quality of the video stream will progressively improve despite bottlenecks in the network resulting in a better QoS for the user.
